Thread: An example of Marrone playcalling with Syracuse last year.

The premise of this thread is absolutely laughable.

Did you even bother to watch the video?

The QB threw 11 passes where the WR was more than 20 yards downfield from the line of scrimmage.

    4 of them were incompletions.
1 of them was just a hail mary at the end of the game
1 of them was a drop when the WR fell to the ground after catching the pass.
4 of them resulted in pass interference penalties against the defense
1 of them was a long completion
2 of them were long TDs.

11, yes that is right, ELEVEN shots downfield in the game.

Now allow me to put that into perspective for you...

Last Season, Tom Brady was 20 of 68 on passes thrown to an intended target that was more than 20 yards beyond the line of scrimmage -- ALL YEAR!
That is on average, 1.25 pass completions on 4.25 attempts of over 20 yards from the line of scrimmage, per game.

And Nassib had 3 completions (2 of which went for TDs), 1 drop, and a whopping 4 pass interference calls where the defender chose to commit a foul rather than give up a potentially big play... on 11 ELEVEN attempts of over 20 yards.

Feel free to say whatever you like about Bellyboy and Tommy Brady up in New England, but when you compare those numbers to Syracuse and Nassib, you just look foolish with your comments.

Regardless, the Bills beat the Browns who beat the Steelers. My point remains the same. You're comparing apples to oranges.
I have to ask. Do you feel like you have made a real point and relish in what you have just posted when you post? Or do you realize 90% of what you are saying makes little to no sense?

I literally just spent 35 - 40 minutes reading through these 15 pages of what Rob Dyrdek would call "ridiculousness". Never in my Buffalo Bills fan life have I read such irrational justification for disliking a move made by the team that most consider pretty positive among the fan base. I personally am on the fence about it and will make a decision after I have enough Buffalo Bills coached by Doug Marrone film to evaluate. Until then, I will not use one college YouTube highlight reel to form an opinion so full of unreasonable crap that I have the whole message board telling me that I'm clinically insane. Good day and Go Bills!

I can't wait for this premonition (^) to be incredibily inaccurate.

All I was saying is that you guys are so simple and want to put all the blame on 1 guy while there were many other players clearly playing worse than Fitz at their positions.

Fitz had a crappy year. I get it. He has to go.
Gotta be one of the dumbest comments on this board in a while. If our QB had a top 5 defense, he'd be good enough...oy vey.

Guys, we did get blown out too often last year and I get it ...the defense was a big problem with those losses.

But we lost 4 games by a score or less and in those game I think a bad INT or a few bad passes which missing them was inexcusable cost us three or maybe even all 4 of those games.

Not only that Fitz couldn't outplay several of the rookies / backups he's faced since he got here. Former Miami backups especially.

Even with this defense as bad as it was we were just a few Fitz F-Ups from 9-7 or 10-6.

New England, Tennessee, St. Louis, etc...

I mean did we even score a TD in the final 2 minutes of a half this year? Maybe once, maybe twice at most!
    ADOPT A BILL:
Cordy Glenn - let him play left tackle people. Geesh!

My expectations for our new coach are simple.
    1. Have the ability to locate decent stop gap players that are better players than the last ones who were on this roster for far too long.
    2. Win as many games as you can, but when you lose ... get beat, don't follow in the steps of your predecessors who seemed to try and find new and inventive ways to loose winnable games.

Lots of throwing not nearly enough running.

So based off that video they pass more than they run?

Something tells me you didn't read the title of the video...

You bet it did. I'll be watching as much footage of what these boys Hackett and Marrone could do at Syracuse as I can get my hands on.
Explain to me how any Quarterback we have on our roster right now is better than Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Yeah. I just realized it was cut just to show Nassib.

Anyone know of condensed footage like this that includes the running plays?

All I see are screen passes, checkdowns, and short quick passes most of the time. There are no effective deep plays downfield.

Chan Gailey could've been calling the plays in this game, and I wouldn't be surprised one bit.

Watch the video and tell me with a straight face that Marrone isn't Chan Gailey 2.0.

I guess you don't watch a lot of New England football games....and how rarely Brady throws the ball more then 15 or 20 yards down field. He throws checks and screens constantly. This was him running an offense at Syracuse....not one in the NFL. The Geniuses all come out of the wood work this time of year.

So what you generally states is that if it works you should try something else?
Now that sounds more like Gailey.
" I have a guy with a 6.2 average pr. carry who they can't contain, so now I need to find something else they can't stop in order for me to look smart to the entire world."
That is what got Gailey canned.
