In a way it makes sense. Pettine did get a lot out of Maybin as a NY Jet. A lot more than Chan Failey got out of him! Bring him in on a vet minimum salary and maybe we can get some of the investment we initially made in him?

He may not be very good at his pass rushing... But neither are any of our LB'ers. At least with Maybin you know the potential and athleticism is there. For a vet minimum salary it isn't as far fetched.
