Innovation: Not letting football change your philosophy, but making your philosophy change football. ~ I said that...Really.
The last real post in the best thread ever. I'm honored. Thank you, AZbacker. It was a good run, Budda.omgz, forgive my thoughtlessness.
Grundy208: sticky hicky
Jayryp's buddy is still a fine WR.
If he falls to us I find it hard to believ e the bills will pass on Smith.
Down year for QBs if we're talking about Geno Smith as the first off the board. But it would make sense that we miss out on the next great crop of QBs coming down the pipeline.
Picking Smith in the top ten would be a reach at this point seeing that as of right now no QB is rated higher than 20 by the experts. And the Chiefs seem to know this.Their new Gm is on record as saying they will go BPA at one and not reach for a QB.Which means that their GM like many don't think that there is a QB worth taking there. The same tact that the Bills should use.So Geno would not fall to us he would be a reach for us as would Barkley.

A serious question or two.
The Packers got lucky that Rodgers was still there. If he'd been gone, where would they be now? If they always draft BPA, obviously the BPA has never been a QB, so they wouldn't have drafted one. So where would they be now?
And will the Chiefs still be feeling the same way if they go BPA every pick for the next three or four years and build up a good roster that never goes anywhere because Cassel is still their QB because the QBs they liked were always gone by the time their value rolled around?
I have no clue why people keep saying he can be a "dual threat."
He's far from a "dual threat." He rarely runs and is as much of a "pocket passer" as there is in the draft. His career long is a 29 yard run and has a career total of 342 rushing yards at a 1.4 YPC clip...Not a "dual threat."
Sure, he could run a bit if he wanted, but he's nowhere near a Robert Griffin III, Russell Wilson or even an Andrew Luck for that matter.
I like football.
He is mobile, but also keep in mind that college stats reflect the yardage lost in sacks against the QB...in other words, when a QB takes a sack, the lost yardage reflects as a run attempt.
He isn't Cam Newton or RG3....or even Wilson, who ran a pro offense while he was in college.
FIRE BUDDY NIX!!!
Geno Smith is a very mediocre NFL QB prospect.
That is all I have to say on the matter.
Carry on.
count how many of his passes are 5 yards or less and his WRs turn them into good gainers. his stats are so misleading because of the number of screen plays and short passing routes they have. we should be more focused on grabbing some of the WRs he has rather than him...
geno can't play in bad weather. In the pin stripe bowl he was like a deer in headlights. He was awful
If ever there was a year to trade down and take a QB so we can take 2 LB's high after that this is the year.
"What matters is two years and three years down the road, if we have this thing turned around in the right direction and we're winning," Nix said. "I know before I'm asked this, you're going to think I'm crazy, but we're not that far away."
“Russ and I scanned a list of possible candidates,” Wilson said. “We didn’t know them. I didn’t know them. I don’t think Russ did. We narrowed it down to two candidates for the job of general manager of football, two in-house candidates.”
let's be honest here...people assume Smith is 'duel threat' because he's black.
he's as duel threat as Fitz is, can run...kind-of...
but i find it hard to believe Bills would draft him even if he was there, it was either the cold/snow or Marone that made him look straight bad in the pinstripe bowl
....Barkley or Nassib for us boys
