I don't really know how I feel about this. I really would like a downtown stadium, that would be awesome. SO in perspective I guess I'm already a little bit against these renovations.
That being said, we definitely needed an upgrade to the jumbotron. The one the Ralph has now is fine, but you look around the league and most stadiums have multiple viewing screens around the stadium. So, the ones proposed in the stadium renderings were a good thing. Also the concessions desperately needed an upgrade, so it's good to see that, but that's a given.
The rest of it doesn't really do much for me... I guess the new entrance by Abbott road is kinda cool? But the rest of the gate entrances... who really cares?
I guess overall, I'm just really "blah" over the entire idea. Just get a downtown stadium, that plus the First Niagara center could really bring some life back to the city of Buffalo. I can just picture everyone hopping on the metro on gamedays, drunk, chanting "LETS GO BUFFALO" and it makes me feel good inside.
GO BILLS!
is there a timetable for this?
If it will look like this, I think its ugly. The new front building looks like a temporary structure. I think they need to get a few more different architects bidding on this. I like the concept but not the current design.
CHANGED MY SIG 4/24/13: Time to stick my neck out. I am going to be consistent as stated in posts the past couple months. Manuel is the best QB in this draft and I hope so badly that Nix doesn't screw it up and not take him in the 1st. I was pissed in the 3rd when Wilson was not taken and made it clear on this board last year immediately after the draft and I don't want to do it with Manuel this year.
I like the idea of these renovations for possibly only the next decade of use, I'd imagine if they put this money into it and bring it up to speed somewhat that maybe the Ralph will have life after the Bills do move somewhere else. I haven't seen a timetable for anything yet.
I'm ok with any upgrade. Anything would be better than what the current stadium has to offer. As long as it's done quick and a new stadium is still in the works.
Those may be the worst "professional" renderings I have ever seen of something like this.
Not the design, just the execution.
That building outside looks awful.
Also sell the naming rights of the stadium. No way ralph will give that up though
they are just horrendous...looks like someone playing on paint-shop pro on their computer...look at the those video boards above the suites..terrible....looks almost like a joke...But the upgrades seem legit and will greatly help the Ralph...but these renderings a atrocious.
Stevie "Styles" Johnson
These are placeholders, people. They are passable for the Ralph to compete as an NFL stadium until the new one is built.
Im OK with it as long as the real deal is a new domed stadium downtown
A new era of hope begins. Go Bills
The renderings look horrible and enjoy your last 7 yrs in Buffalo.
