Kaepernick was considered a third or fourth early in the draft but moved up at Senior Bowl and then the Combine lifted him and the private interviews and workouts moved him to the top of the 2nd.

here is a good breakdown of who hit and missed on Kaepernick - some had him first round, a few early second and most the third - after the Senior Bowl he was never considered less than a 3 rd round pick - that 4th round stuff was before anyone watched him throw.
Unfortunately, no one in this draft has that "high ceiling" like Colin
Looking forward to 2013:
Manuel - most upside in the draft
Woods - most pro ready WR
Alonso - tall ILB with coverage skills
Goodwin - fastest WR in draft
Duke Williams - prince of a pick
Meeks - no he is not
Hopkins - best K prospect in the draft
Gragg - vertical threat TE
Go ahead and complain - I am happy with this draft
Adopt a Bill - first choice Alonso, second Goodwin
