That is odd but I think Reed gets in next year, it doesnt matter as long as he gets in. There are poliitics/advocating that takes place behind the scenes which likely explains this. Carter had more/better advocates this year. Also, the pool of voters likely changes some year to year.
I expect Mario Williams to get 100 sacks, $1,000,000 per sack, seems reasonable to me.
There is only one position that you should dole out $100,000,000 for and it starts with a Q. Just my opinion...
Show me a 2:1 TD to INT Ratio or show me a new QB

players need to be compared to other players of their area, the game has changed to much for comparing multiple generations

INDIVIDUAL STATS DON"T MATTER FOR THE FINAL CUT IN FOOTBALL. YOU DON"T HAVE TO ENDLESSLY REPEAT STATS TO TELL ME JOE MONTANA OR JERRY RICE WERE HALL OF FAMERS.

Repeat this until it sinks in.

The West Coast O and all the changes in rules caused galloping inflation in passing yards starting in the early 1980s to present.

Reed wasn't "all that" as a receiver. To be objective, neither were Jim Kelly and Thurman Thomas at their positions.

All 3 improved each other and gave us 6 years of great football. May we live to see even one great season again.

so what would you wager on Reed getting in?

Reed, Carter and Brown all belong in the HOF .... Its about time the logjam was broken, hopefully Reed gets the nod next year.

Carter had the edge because he came up with "C'mon Man" for Monday Night football.

I know I am joking, but in reality that's what it is all about!!!

If you want to look at the stats the glaring thing is that both reed and carter had the same amount of yards with carter having 200 more catches, there never was a reciever in history that would go across the middle and take the big hit like reed. The only reason I can figure on why reed isn't in yet is because so many bills are there fr that era

I want to see Reed in and I do think he was better than Carter, but Carter deserved to be in. Just from following him on twitter, you can pick up on Peter King voting against Reed. Reed gets in next year along with Strahan, only first yearcandidate that has a chance is Marvin Harrison. Reed has made the final 10 like three or four years in row, he will get in. I think Reed, Strahan, and Haley get in next year.
Trent Edwards career summed up on 1 play

    Against the Saints on 9-27-09

It was in the 4th quarter and we are trailing 20 to 7 with 2:26 left in the game. It was a 4th and 23 ball on our 14th yard line. The game is on the line and Trent checks down to Jackson coming out of the backfield 4 yards behind the line of scrimmage. The game is on the line and he throws a check down on 4th and 23???!!!!!!! This sums him up in one play.

I was surprised that Sapp was a first ballot HOFer, but I guess being on TV helped him

He deserved to be a first ballot HOFer IMO....if you knew anything about the DT position I think you'd agree.

Carter deserved to be in.....so do reed and brown...and theyll all eventually get in

I won't criticize the voters because it's hard. The NFL hall of fame selection process is Terrible because limiting the number of inductees creates a huge mess of deserving candidates.
