I highly doubt Wilson was released if they didnt KNOW that Byrd is not going anywhere.
I highly doubt Wilson was released if they didnt KNOW that Byrd is not going anywhere.
What I was saying was that Barnett shouldn't of been cut because he was the best linebacker we had. Now they just weakened an already bad linebacking core by releasing there best player. And if you can't see that what does that say about you?? I would be surprised if you even finished school......
He's saying that Barnett was terrible and Searcy makes Wilson expendable. Wilson wasn't getting better and is on the wrong side of 30. Now maybe we'll start getting players to play the position they were playing before they got here?
Heck put Bradham in Barnett's spot and the only thing you lose is salary.
How about we actually get a LB that's is ascending and not on the decline?
Besides, I think Bradham had enough good plays to not make Barnett a lock as out best LB.
ADOPT A BILL:
Cordy Glenn - let him play left tackle people. Geesh!
My expectations for our new coach are simple.
1. Have the ability to locate decent stop gap players that are better players than the last ones who were on this roster for far too long.
2. Win as many games as you can, but when you lose ... get beat, don't follow in the steps of your predecessors who seemed to try and find new and inventive ways to loose winnable games.
Wilson is a 2.9 million dollar savings not 3.82 as your saying. The only thing you save is his base salary the bonus money coints on your cap.But your correct on Barnett. So they created over 6 million in cap space with these two moves.Helps in retaining Byrd and possibly Levitre.I think Levitre depends on what he wants as far as money goes.If its to much I think the Bills will move on from him.You don't want to overpay at the guard spot.
Frees up over 7.3 million in available cap space (8.5 overall) while adding just over 1 million to our dead money. According to http://www.nyjetscap.com/Bills/bills2013.php
I'll reserve judgement until we see who they replace them with.
Is there people who are seriously upset about Wilson being let go? He was not very good in coverage this year and we do need to get faster and younger at the LB position. Barnett to me is more of the surprise.
If Byrd does not get a new contract, he will be tagged you have to think
One day soon the the sun will shine in snowy Buffalo and our bandwagon will run everyone over taking no passengers
Happy that we have more money to spend and both players were terrible last year wilson was terrible in coverage out of position a lot and barnett not onky was out of position a lot but missed tackles he made in 2011. I thought his poor play was due to the stache but i guess bills didnt see it that way.
A man's got to BILLieve in something. I BILLieve I'll have another drink.

Gentleman, while I can understand how the uncertainty of whom will replace Barnett & Wilson could raise your anxiety levels, why not give the new group of coaches that the vast majority of us so desperately wanted, the benefit of the doubt regarding their decision?
Who knows, maybe they are just playing it by ear, with no plan & these decisions will blow up in both theirs & our faces come September. It's possible.
But, I believe, highly unlikely.
I'm willing to trust them to remedy the situation that the loss of those two players created by replacing them with superior talent on the roster. Or, at the very least, players that they believe will be superior to what Barnett & Wilson brought to the table. It could go either way, but my thinking is that they do have a plan in place & that this forthcoming season's defense will be better than what it was this past December.
I don't mean to come across as condescending, but all new regimes worth their salt always have to make big, sometimes painful decisions & I doubt that this is the last we'll see of it.
We all wanted change & a new direction, well, be happy we got it.
So, let's enjoy the ride.
Peace,
Jim
Would Dwayne Bowe, Paul Kruger and Laron Landry make you feel better? They would definitely make Buffs front office look good and as long as they are committed to upgrading the positions then I am with them all the way!
Based on how wes welker abused Barnett and how Wilson cannot catch a cold even when it hit him in the numbers I say The Bills are letting them go at the right time.
This is why stats are misleading, having the most tackles means teams have determined your the weak link and are attacking your weakness! Therefore the number of tackles you have to make will increase. Or these guys are part of the losing culture and the best way to shake things up is to send a message to the players! Whatever they saw on film !
They are probably thinking the Bills haven't been in the playoffs for the past decade and that these players didn't do enough good work on the field to get them there next year.
Good riddance if you ask me.
The FO is finally taking out the trash, man.
Can you dig it.
1) Are we going to be a 3-4 defense or a 4-3 defense?
2) Are we going to sign a FA WLB or draft one?
3) If we draft a new WLB what round will be get one? Keep in mind we need a QB and a true #1-WR.
4) Is Searcy our new SS?
5) Why keep Kelsay?
