They might think he's not an elite QB prospect.

I don't think they're allowed to have that opinion. They took Gabbert. I'd say I've watched him here in Orlando.....but they're always blacked out. If I'm the Jags, the decision has been made.

Or they learned they're lesson and don't want another Gabbert....

Why throw away another 3 years on another mediocre QB prospect?

So they've learned their lesson? Just pointing out Derrick Harvey, Quentin Groves, Tyson Alualu, Matt Jones, etc etc. this team wouldn't know a good draft pick if they took a punter in the 3rd round......wait, never mind.

That franchise needs something to energize it. Another pass rusher in a long line of failed draft picks wasted on a DE isn't it.

    Look at 2010:

Round Pick # Overall Name Position College
1 10 10 Tyson Alualu Defensive Tackle California
    3 10 74 D'Anthony Smith Defensive Tackle Louisiana Tech
5 12 143 Larry Hart Defensive End Central Arkansas
5 22 153 Austen Lane Defensive End Murray State
6 11 180 Deji Karim Running Back Southern Illinois
6 34 203 Scotty McGee Cornerback James Madison

    Wow. Just wow

What's funny is that our draft history looks just as crappy.

    It won't be at #8.......
"I personally agree with Mayock. I've said this all year. I can guarantee that there will be a run on qb's in the first. This class is better than most think. They just have the bad "luck" of following last year's crop". I think the only qb's that will be considered at 8 are Smith, Barkley, Wilson, and (maybe) Glennon. quoted by whorlnuts....1/22/13

Our last 3 drafts vs theirs isn't even close. They have no talent. Bad oline, bad Dline, no linebackers, no Secondary, basically MJD is that team. Your just being obtuse at this point

My question after seeing what KC gave up to get an average at best QB, what would the Bills get for Fitz? The contracts are similar and while I think Smith is better than Fitz, I also believe the Bills would be able to snag a 3rd
I've been to the top, there's not a lot of oxygen there, so I'm fine where I'm at.

    What do we have?

All we have is an offensive line and CJ Spiller.

Every other area of our team is below average. Terrible linebackers, underachieving DL, poor secondary, one good receiver, no tight end, no QB.

2010 draft was a disaster. 2011 draft is approaching disaster status.

No idea how you think we're in a position to make fun of the Jags. We're just as incompetent.

We won 3 times as many games as them. So we're 3 times as good hehe.

If you are in the opinion that the bills need a quarterback with this year's eighth overall, then this is good news in that it removes one possibility from the equation. Call me crazy, but that still leaves Jacksonville, Philadelphia and Arizona as possibilities to go after one of the quarterbacks. I agree that Jacksonville need some excitement for its fan base and nothing spells excitement more than a new quarterback. Geno Smith might be the perfect chip Kelly candidate. Arizona demonstrated last year exactly why they need a quarterback. Before everyone becomes an expert on each of these teams, bear in mind that just because mock draft "experts" aren't putting someone in that position doesn't mean it won't happen. My opinion is that if Geno Smith is there I don't see how the bills could pass on him, but there's always a team that takes a quarterback early. Who knows it might even be the Jets leapfrogging us. Stranger things have happened with the draft.
