    IDK about legitimate contenders (its presumptuous to think he will start) but I do know he is the best available free agent QB that could provide a spark if the starter gets hurt or he could initially win the job if the rookie cannot out play him in camp.

    I feel Matt is a QB Buffalo should strongly consider as he is a vet and can help the team not only on the field but in the locker room and with mentoring the rookie!

    I would simply love it if Hasselbeck becomes a Bill!

    He wouldn't make this team a contender but I think he'd be a good mentor for any rookie QB that is drafted. So sign him.
