    Hey everyone,

My daughter has asked for wings at the Kids game this year (last year was babyback ribs). I have a sauce I normally go to for the kids, but wanted to change it up a bit this year.

Anyone got some nice wing recipies for a kid friendly wing (ie. not hot or spicy)?

I've looked on the internet found a couple I'm considering. Just curious what some of you have?

Ok. I get it. This is where you tell me that "locals rule", and that Yuppie insects like me shouldn't be surfing the break, right?
Nope. That would be a waste of time.

    "friendly" Wing Sauce:
1 large jar of Franks Hot Sauce (Very tasty)
    1 Stick of Butter
1 Bottle of Ranch Salad Dressing
Melt butter and combine with wing sauce
then just add ranch dressing and stir
    *Very important to use franks*
I just want to be excited about our QB....With some Luck, hopefully that will happen next year.

Being a very amateur cook, I found this recipe easy, delicious, and a hearty side dish for the cold weather games.

Boil and cube potatoes. I find this to be more successful if done the night before the game.

At the game, chop bacon into small pieces and cook, while cooking the already boiled and cubes potato pieces beside it.

As the bacon cooks, combine the cooking potatoes and the bacon, along with the grease that has cooked off of the bacon.

Next, season to taste (I typically just use salt, pepper, and season-all) along with scallions.

Top with shredded cheddar cheese and enjoy!!

Actually this works out kind of good. I wanted to make a few things for the opener. I'm making the bacon burger dogs, stuffed jalapenoes, and was looking at a recipe for a potato dish. That recipe was a little more complicated, and I wanted to keep things easy for this game.

I think I might try this one. Thanks. I'll let you know how it goes after the game.

But I've always found, if it's got bacon it's gonna be good.

I'm making some of these up at the Kids game tomorrow:

    Lemonade Chicken Wings
    3 lbs. chicken wings
6 oz can frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed (90ml)
1 tbsp of soy sauce (15 ml)
    A dash of hot sauce
1 tsp of celery salt (5 ml)
2 x fresh garlic cloves, crushed
1/4 cup fresh mint chopped (60ml)
    Salt and pepper to taste
    2 tbsp olive oil (30ml)

    Directions:
    Lemonade Chicken Wings

Place the chicken wings in a large sealable plastic bag.
Pour the lemonade concentrate into a medium glass bowl. Add soy sauce, celery salt and garlic.
    Mix.
Pour ¼ cup into a small dish and reserve for a basting sauce later. Pour the marinade into the plastic bag with chicken. Be sure to coat all chicken well with marinade.
Seal the bag and place in the refrigerator to marinate for 2.5 hours.
Remove the chicken legs from the marinade and wipe off excess marinade with paper towel.
Season the chicken with salt and pepper, drizzle with oil to prevent sticking.
    Preheat grill to 400ºF/200ºC
Place wings on grill and brush with reserved marinade. Cook for 7 minutes per side and continue basting until wings are cooked.
Remove chicken from grill and place on a tray. Loosely cover with aluminium foil. Let chicken rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Ok. I get it. This is where you tell me that "locals rule", and that Yuppie insects like me shouldn't be surfing the break, right?
Nope. That would be a waste of time.

Well the wings turned out great. I will post up the pics tomorrow. They caramalized real nice, to give them a nice stickyness (is that a word?).

Flavor was very nice and the wings were cooked perfectly. Definetly will use this one again. The whole family loved them, so did they guys tailgating beside me.

Alright here's how the wings turned out. I made two kinds, regular saucy ones (the pic on the grill has those on the left side) and the lemonade ones (which are on the right side of the grill)

The lemonade gave it a very nice hint of lemon, and the sugar in the lemonade really got sticky as it cooked. Very delicious.

    Enjoy the pics.

I'm going with some bacon burger dogs, stuffed jalapenoes, and one more thing just not 100% sure what yet. Probably the potato recipe that was posted up on here.

Sorry Raybone, but I generally do it a little simpler so I don't have many recipes. One of my favorites is to "marinate" my chicken breasts in plain ole Italian dressing. It's so good, I have my whole family doing that one.

For the game Sunday we are doing French toast and sausage for breakfast, frying a turkey and ribs for lunch and burgers for post game. Might have to try your stuffed jalapenos too.

All this talk of tailgating is making me hungry!

    No sorry needed.

It can be simple, it can be complicated. As long as we are all enjoying tasty food on Sundays!!!!!!
